the lawsuit was over a claimed infringement of the Dave Bell 'viewloader' patents by the halo design. The Bell patents were purchased by BE and of course, are now owned by K2.
Then there's the 'anderson' patent(s), which were issued just about the same time as Bell 1, on which the sound-activated loader's are based.
Bell 1 issued, then Anderson, then Bell 2. There's a lot to debate as to which of those actually should have issued, what they each specifically cover, who holds what rights and which are valid.
Unless you like to read patents tho, I'd wait for the summary...
