Heres an idea TJ, lets vote for our least favourite Mod, it might open a few eyes, but there and again I know from experience, how you guys love to Cook the books, maybe we wouldnt get an honest reply anyway.
Maybe they could sort of re-brand? Instead of calling them "the French", we could all start calling them "Freedom Guys (and girls)". Instead of "going to France", we'll "go to Libertyland". The problem is mostly in the image, and altering public perseption isn't all that tough.Originally posted by Wadidiz
Some of my French PB friends have expressed to me how fed up they are with the French bashing.
Unfortunately we can only form opinions based on our own experiences not yours.Originally posted by Wadidiz
Sure there is truth to stereotypes but I hate the French bashing. Sure, I've seen some French judges do some questionable things. I've also witnessed American judges doing it.
I've reffed several times with Tontons Flingueurs and they do an excellent job. Hellwood did an outstanding job in Toulouse this year. Even Taz busted their bums and gave all they had in Madrid. They were only limited by their lack of experience. And I'm sure there are many other examples.
Two of our pro refs this season were French and did an excellent job including at the World Cup.
Some of my French PB friends have expressed to me how fed up they are with the French bashing. Some of these players have experienced first-hand the respect they get when they have an American team's uniform on compared with before.
I must also add that I have never met a promoter that is so keenly aware of the need for more professional reffing as Laurent Hamet.
If I'm involved in European reffing next year the French will be definitely included and welcomed and all of our refs will be forbidden to express any anti-French remarks.
