The fascination with after event photo's?

yeh sorry baca, as with alot of actions shots, you do need a little bit of an imagination for it to work... unless your thinking of the moronic american action shot which has to include someone on fire or an explosion.
photography is often about the scene a picture creates in the mind and not just the picture itself.
a picture of a car hurtling round a corner is just a static pic of a car... but signs within the picture help you imagine the rest, a good action photographer takes his pic when most of these signs are present.

Typical Brit understatement then, is it? If Bob were standing behind his bunker on fire that would be something to see. Or flying through the air as earth and smoke erupted behind him. Now that's action!

So let me see if I've got this right now. When you pull out the old action shots it gives you an opportunity to explain things like--I'd just shot a cheeky fellow out of the back corner and mere moments later I ran through the center and bunkered out another guy who never saw it coming and then I attempted to dive into a laydown on their side of the field but got clipped diving in. I didn't feel it but for once the ref was on top of things and pulled me out. Broke the game open it did and we went on to win.

From an action shot i'd expect to see a bunker move - preferably with multiple shots to the neck and some blood spray going on....But you can't have everything.

I'm afreaid I am with Loco on this one. Paintball pictures mainly consist of people standing behind a bunker, allegedly shooting at someone else, who is no doubt busy getting his own picture taken behind a bunker at the other end of the field. Breathtaking!!
