i thought chav stood for 'council home and violent', at least thats what i was told. not meaning to offend anyone, thats just what i was told.

the term has gone mainstream i guess, to mean something more general.

Like in music Indie used to mean an independant band, self supporting and such like. Now it stands for a genre of music like Travis and things .
