I personally dont like the whole NXL thing. X-Ball is good, but the whole NXL thing with franchises isn't really working. There is no connection to any one team. Like I live a half hour away from New York, but im no fan of the now depleated NYX. I think the trend set by Max Lungvist (SP, I have no clue) will continue if the NXL isn't able to match the salarys of non NXL teams. And also dont forget that there hasn't been ANY news about the TV deal since Clarke bought the NXL, and the NPPL has thier own show on fox sports.

Wow. I was reading this thread just to call TJ out for being a limey poser who sooo wants to be American. Then I see A.S. beat me to it.
Just cause you Yanks don't want him don't try an inflict TJ on us

Additionally I must comment that at his very best his speech patterns qualify as 'mid-atlantic' so don't credit him with talking "very British", his treatment of the Queens English is usually just as atrocious as that of anybody else from the Colonies :p :D

BTW I apologise for helping to continue the threadjack

Back to the subject

Well, without wishing to stop the excedingly interesting specualtion as to TJ's roots (BTW that was sarcasm, cuz I am a brit dontchaknow) I thought I'd throw in my tuppence:

I have to echo the earlier poster (who's name I can't rember, sorry mate) in saying that while all of the debate is fascinating, the effect it will have on 90% of the world's tournament 'ballers is next to none. After all if we look at almost any major sport, the effect that all of the money being in the sport is that products have actually got MORE expensive rather than less.

On the other hand I am a big fan of X-Ball, so I hope to be able to see more of it. Of course, I am a Brit, so I'll probably have to shell out on DVDs if I ever want to watch the NXL in action...
