One of mine was designed for me by the guy that done it. I told him what I was after and the reasoning behind it and he went off for a couple of weeks and put together some designs. When he called me in I picked the one I liked best sat down and he done it, after that he took the designs he had done and ripped them up saying that he would not do one like it again coz it's personal to me. That feels good.

Mines a variation of a tribal theme.
My brother in law did it and after doing the outline I didn't want any more ie the solid filling in.
Reason I COULDN'T TAKE THE PAIN!!
I know I'm a wuss but I am happy with the result and I have enourmous respect for guys/girls who have lots or large tattoos. Your pain threshold must be immense.
But people are right, get what makes you happy, it is after all your body and you will see more than anyone else.

Ill admit while the ones on my arms where not much more than minor annoyances,the one across my back from shoulder to shoulder hurt like a bitch..Nothing perks ya up more like a few needles digging in near your spine
Nah, base of your spine is far worse than the top - although the tops of my feet (both ) were by far the most uncomfortable.

Everyone here with a tattoo though knows that indescribable feeling of whatever is that cool spray they wipe over your back to clear some of the excess ink outta the way..Can u say Heaven On Earth

Bout the spray,you were bang on!!!!!!,get a tattoo,make it large,colour,and try to put it out the way,i.e top of arm,shoulder,back etc(so i dont look like a gangsta to the gaffer!) get a tribal one,pref in tigerstripe as know a guy who is britains best at them(awards 2 match) .........Brian(newbie for red heat)
