Didn't there used to be a rec site somewhere in England that was on an old US military base, that included building to building shooting and scenario style games, including a hostage rescue?Originally posted by TJ Lambini
Still, could only happen here...can't see tha Brits doing an Enniskillen Urban site where you have to out-sniper Martyne McGuiness, or tha Spanish setting up a scenario to foil ETTA's plan to paintbomb a resort...
Just Curious is right, it was called "Hot Shots" & was at an old USAF base. Funnily enough, it was a base that used to have nuclear missiles and was reknowned for the slightly insane CND (campaign for nuclear disarmament) women who camped outside protesting against nuclear weaponry for many years. Can't remember the name of the base off hand, but SOMEONE here must, it used to come up in the news regularly.Originally posted by Tyger

There's nothing wrong with simulating a combat situation, many of people find it very fun. The problem is that they're exploiting something that's still going on right now and is a very personal and touchy subject for a lot of people. If they had built that exact same field and named it Armageddon or anything else that had nothing to do with Afghanistan or 9/11 then I don't think anyone would have a problem with it.Originally posted by Andretti
This Taliban City is exactly the sort of thing that keeps onlookers from seeing paintball as a sport like any other. If paintballers want paintball's image to ever improve these type of setups should not be supported. On one hand you have paintballer's trying to move the sports image away from combat simulation and show it for what it can be... A SPORT. And then you have others moving in the exact opposite direction. I think that untill we have paintball being played as a sport by all who play it, paintball will never be recognized by the general public and a legitimate sport.
