Swearing on the field

Diggie

Great Balls of Styrofoam
Younger kidz

It's even worse when young kids hear their icons spit acid to their opponents and start to imitate that just for the sake of it. It's impossible to monitor yourself in extreme situations like paintball when it comes to cussin' but that's just competition. It all depends on where you draw the line.

In our team we try to put a lid on anyone who starts throwing a tantrum with "colorful expressions" because it just makes us look like fools.

We'd rather want to be the strong silent types who know what they're doing than the crybabies who just got their lollipops taken from them with everyone watching. I have seen a few disgraceful antics on the fields at DMA. No sirree, we ain't gonna join that club.

Sparkinator: didn't know you understood Russian. :)

um strange wording by hey no one ever gets my REAL names right so ho hum whats new :(

Russian, I am onmipotent or working on it some things you just don't need to know the words the body lanugage says it far louder ;)

I do speak smattering of a very wide a weird collection of languages for allsorts of reasons;)

more worringly I can read enough to understand lanuages I have never studied explain that one I can't but true dyslesic thing mabey who knows I acn read most forms of gibberish. Translate drunk and regional accents not knocking it but weird.

The swearing on the feild thing more to the point!

I tottally agree with Liz and Simon it is unessasary and if we want to get rid of it penalties and the ensuing tatrums and dummy spitting is the only way

We only have 1 gag for Billy and won't lend it out

If you have that homed trained skill you don't need to swear sadly the rest of us mere mortalls are a way behind that level of game :(

Swearing

Love the Purple one in you
Well, thanks to every one who replied... There are a few out there that understand what point i was trying to make.

i swear, but we need to set examples for everyone around us...

Thankyou....

I know we all get carried away but we do not have to go over board. As others have said, it is the attitude behind the swearing that we can do without, if you can contain the swearing (which we all do) then we will avoid more ugliness...

Again, thanks :D

If oyu can read lips, swearing happens allt he time in most professional sports. Just watch in the world cup as the playrs try to talk thier way out of a yellow card. They always lose, then once they know the ref can't see them, it's usually somehting obscene about his mother.

I know of several occasions in the NBA where a player will miss a shot and scream "FAAAA..." You fill in the rest. Baseball players, Football players, all athletes swear. A friend of min calles golf "Whack-F***" because you whack the ball, and say the next part.

I have solutions, I'll print them later as a whole concept becasue, out of context, they dont' make sense.

Thanks to everyone, the rules in Canada sound interesting, bad language is common place in our society, my only concern is its context in our sport. When the blood is pumping, the adrenaline flowing we all sound off. The point is that excessive swearing, i feel causes greater levels of agression.

I am no angel, by far....... But it has been interesting to see the replies /for/against some form of control. As the sport matures i am sure we will see a comminality appear......

For now,
Purple, Say hello to my little friend
