Steve says "The only 'mistake' in my marketing plan was that I didn't turn ownership, patent and profits over to an unnamed, non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak."
Now of all the parties involved in any discussion Steve ever has (Steve, Jerry Braun, or Raehl), is there a single one who "non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak" doesn't describe?
My Brief Synopsis of the "non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak" with regard to Paintball History
Back in the early 90's a non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak came up with a plan to organize tournament paintball to be called the NPPL. It was working well until another non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak got involved and mind f#cked all of the players with his greedy ways. In short order this non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak had control of the league and the original non-playing, control-freak pipsqueakwas cast aside.
Several years later the first non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak had another idea. But being that the 2nd non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak was still leading the charge of what had become the largest tournament circuit in existence, the original non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak decided to take his plan to a group of college guys.
After a trial run of the original non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak's format, and subsequent discussions on a future relationship, a non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak who was running the college event decided that the original non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak was indeed nothing more than a non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak, and took the college teams and ran.
Now there are three non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak's and everyone of them has at some point or another been seen as or called names other than non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak's. But the truth is that the original non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak, the second non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak, and the college non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak still don't play, have lost all or a good bit of the control that they once had, and alas are all still pipsqueaks.
Thanks for reading my brief history of non-playing, control-freak pipsqueaks in paintball. And if you wonder why I am so interested - I quit playing last year, I have recently been put into a position to control the largest tournament series in the world, and I wouldn't weigh 140lbs soaking wet with two bricks in my hands. So it is all quite interesting to me - the plight of these non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak.. And I hope to use their fall from grace as a learning tool. I hope that I am not a flash in the pan, a talent wasted, a victim of my own ego, and in the end, a mad little man who goes on web boards and talks **** about the other non-playing, control-freak pipsqueak's who came before me. I hope to be remebered as the non-playing, control-freak, cooperative, kept his ego in check, and made it work for everyone pipsqueak.
****this is just a joke**** I have no idea of what went on between Steve and Jerry back in the day. I could have cared less. I have no idea what went on between Chris and Steve, and could care less. Jerry is still a major player innpaintball, and has been very instrumental in some things as of late that may well take tournament paintball to levels it has never even approached. Chris does still help run the NCPA and has as of late make a huge step in having a MAJOR college organization take note and recognize tournament paintball as a viable college sport. Steve Davidson is one of the most intelligent, determined, and committed people who ever involved themselves in tournament paintball.
I respect each of these guys and what they have done, attempted to do, and quite possibly will do for paintball.
IT WAS JUST A JOKE.
