Sorry to hear about your mates loss, i hope it turns up somewhere. This is getting ridiculous, it seems like at every tourney one or more markers have been nicked, either out of cars or out of someones bag. Someone or a group, seems to be targeting the tourney scene. What would it cost to employ someone to watch the cars, spread across all the players about a quid each. Put this forward to the event organisers, and insist it's done at each event. Just the continued prescence of someone, physically watching the cars would deter the tw#ts and keep our gear safe.
Ghost dog, as you can see, we both think the same way. No more than a pound a player.

someone should start up a security group for these events! plenty of work all year round...what do you need a van(lock-up) and a couple of guys/girls armed with markers(you can shoot em cos there on a paintball site)...well there is that problem of no goggles...hmmmmm...o.k no markers...but actually if the theives are not paint ballers they don't know if your dry firing..oh yes!

The tw#ts won't pinch anything from cars if there was someone was actually there to stop them.

THIEVES ARE COWARDLY TW#TS....

Security guards are a good idea yes, but which security guard is going to know whether your picking your own gun up or someone else's?

Having cars locked and protected by security guards would and should be a must, having your gear protected up at a staging area is a different matter.

This is just an idea but why dont you have a caging area under your table at events to protect your gear. Simply do your normal stuff when you arrive and then bung your stuff in a cage under a table and lock it. Of course money would be an issue and so would space, but you aint gonna need alot of room for your gun, spares and tools and paint, especially when your bags are in your motor protected by security. As for the money, paying that bit extra every tourni, for the whole year, for the same cages wont take long to pay em off.

Just my thoughts!

Darren :)

you could quite easily have security in the players area to look after the gear on the players table, when they're playing. The gaurds could then move to each players table when they play.

Sounds like a bloody good idea, I'd rather pay an extra £5 per tourny then £1500 for a new gun. Maybe player I.D. card's could be introduced for the different series, it might help some where along the line.

was told this by a mate:
in nov at a campaign walk on event at the end of the day one of his mates left a dragon or some of simular spyder on the table, anyways sum punter comes along and picks up the marker and walks of with it, fortunatly somone spots this and goes chasing after him, they didnt take it to the police tho, i know i would of.

Thieves grrr

Its not only markers being swiped, what about your gear. last leg of the swpl I had a JT lanyard with squeegie stick pinched I know it aint expensive to replace but just the thought that it could have just as easily been my gun.
Security definately has to be increased as paintball isnt a cheap sport and the thieves are very well aware of this.
I mean here is an example pinch a gun and sell to someone in the states its that easy.
Something has to be done. Luckily at the moment I have the wife to look after my stuff.
:(

i have derived a proximty device & is tryin to get it off the ground as production ,the patent liked it!.its a tag system that has a claxion base unit & tags to the marker& round the players neck & if u go out of a certain range this thing screaches like rape alarm thus making all eyes of security in the direction of the thief.thats just a rough idea.but hey dude if it came my way ad snapp there fingerz no danger& there legs.am keepin my eyes ,may hope be on your side;)
