Just a thought for you guys

I'm going ot bed after I post this, so there's a refrence point for you.

But the NPPL may now be trying to reorganise, as the announcement was VERY sudden. As I understand it hte NPPL pulled their booth out of Vegas, which leads me to believe that they had no forethought of action.

It's VERY likely that the NPPL is trying to weigh options, put together a buisness-like plan of action, and then after they have everything together they'll make an announcement. At least it would make sense to me as a player of paintball that someone would want to actually figure out what they're going to do before they announce what they're going to do.

The voice of reason? Me? Heh, I never thought I'd come to the NPPL's "defense" here, but it's kinda getting silly. 2 weeks is still soon folks. Give them a little bit more here. Now if they don't make an announcment by, say, June 8 or so, THEN it's a bit worrysome. But, let them get their schtuff together.

Sheesh. And I'm the REC guy!

My my Niall, :)

Judging by that sly remark am I right in assuming there is fuel to the rumours that NPPL events are moving to 7man so they can be much more closely linked to the Millennium Series ?? :D

Not that it would be much of a suprise to some of us as we feel 7man is the way to go.

I am with TJ, I will give them all the time they need to get their house in order after the royal mess it's got into (although I don't agree with Tyger that this is only been going for a couple of weeks, I think this could well have be planned a lot further in advance )

But if you say "we will announce the June venue of May13th" you are kinda making a rod for your own backs.

I would think it would be better for them to forget June and concentrate on getting a July event perfect than putting on a half @rsed event which has problems (as PSP seem to be coping flak for with Vegas)

Does Diablo/Draxxus feature heavily in the future of the NPPL? making it a success by making attendance a condition of sponsorship deals, rumour has it that this will extend to europes Pro teams as well, they should be able to compete on a 7 man level what with all the practice they have had....

Let's face it...

There are certain gimmes...

Gimme #1 is that NPPL and Millennium are talking

Gimme #2 is that someone, somewhere will have realised that there are three events you don't go head-to-head with when you're starting a new venture and attempting to prise teams away from existing events - and one of those is Chicago NPPL/PSP. If Jerry is tha 100lbs gorilla of PSP, Renick is tha 80lbers...messing with Chicago is not tha way to make sure your first event is heavily attended.

Gimme #3 Niall's bluffing, cos if he ain't he'll go to my profile, hit tha 'eamil TJ' button and we'll share info...;)

TJ's gut instinct? NPPL goes 7-Man World Series but goes head-to-head with Atlantic City and backs the **** up quick sharp from Chicago...I got my spies onto it as I type this.

Main question is, where does tha industry split happen? Where do tha teams go? One rather high-profile team, if rumor is true, is about to part company with their major sponsor over this very issue...
