Re...

No, no, no...I agree with you and I'm not questioning that.

I'm wondering of politically on the world stage, if he decides to launch WMD will it end up a political victory for the U.S.??? Like "see, we told you so."

PS...not that I WANT WMD to get launched...I definitely don't. I'm just saying "what if."

I think it would certainly justify Bush's actions in many people's minds and would severly undermine support at home for Chirac...

Yep of course your right, but do you think he really cares???

The advantages far outweigh the risks. Chemical or Biological weapons would deny allied forces any real estate to launch an attack, as I don't see anybody allowing them to stage attack once Saddam's willing to go down that route. As duffy say's he knows hes f**ked.

It dosen't matter anymore if he alienates French opinion, he had WMD, he's still got em, and you can't just un-have them (sameway you can't uninvent the h-bomb etc).

No of course I don't think he cares...I think when his back is pinned against the wall he'll push every red flashing button he can reach. I'm just thinking beyond it...
I don't doubt that he'll use 'em if he's got 'em...I don't equate that with the concept of a pre-emptive strike, though...which I think would be a mistake on his part.

Yeah you're right there. I'm not sure anyone would be too worried about alienating French opinion right now anyway...Saddam or anyone else for that matter.

You know what is sad about the whole French deal. I asked my guys if they wanted to do Toulouse and they said hell no. The U.S. as a whole is so anti France right now it is nuts. They are even calling French Fries freedom fries!!!
