Hi Everyone,

For years and years the lads playing in the north have been quite envious of the tourneys down south, but now its pretty piss poor. Steve Bull has turned the northern series 2002 into the best tournament series in the UK. The other day i was talking to some of the southern players on Nexus over a few cheeky pints and they said that it's falling to bits down south and the best events they have played this year (outside the Millennium) have been in the series 2002. So the conversation turned to Bully running a mirror like series in the South of England. The lads on Nexus who had been playing for different teams said it was a good idea.

So what do you lot think?

One of the things that makes the northern series 2002 work is that the teams that play in the league also judge the league and there are also legs that are self-judge (i.e. you judge 2 or 3 games while you are on a bye) This way the events are cheap, and have no problems getting judges... But would you judge? You don't do it for free Steve pays quite handsomely (Well for the north anyway)

8 events different venues around the south, Pretty much all Supair (He’s got at least 4 fields I know about) Air Supplied (And you can get 4500psi), Trophies galore and an end of season presentation night.. Sounds Good?

Post your feelings & thoughts, let Bully know and he might take up the challenge. Or you could keep on moaning about it and playing crap ball !!

Okay, I'm not from the UK, but this has made me think though.
I can imagine that organising one of these series can be quite a challenge when it comes to the logistics. If Steve would organise the same thing for the south, this theoretically means that the effort put in would have to be doubled. Does it not make more sense to have one nation wide series, or would most teams think that the distances involved would be too big?

Just curious...

Although in essence it sounds quite cool. It would be cool to have sort of northern and southern conference and have the champs of both meet eachother in a final game.

Great Idea,

We have looked at trying to find a series that we could regularly attend. There just aren't any in the south (at the moment) and trying to travel up North is both time (days off work) and cash intensive.

Big thumbs up from me and I guess the rest of the boys as it would give us an opportunity to regularly play some class opposition with minimal impact on our pockets.

Marshalling ... I would always be willing to do my bit as I guess the rest of our guys would be as well.

What would the proposed format be ? 5 / 7 man, number of games ? Semi's then finals or knock out ?

Would be great if it was held on a Saturday rather than the traditional Sunday for one day tournaments but this is a sellfish view as it means we wouldn't need Monday off to travel home.

:p Please Santa Bully give us a southern series for next year !! :p

Already doing it .......................

This format is already in place but to a smaller degree with the guys from the South West - http://www.southwestpaintball.co.uk/.

Syd & Rob are doing a great job with this and until fairly recently all the teams that played fairly consistantly also marshalled different legs for which they got points to add to their total for the series.

This format allows everyone to understand the game especially as a player and a judge's perspective. It is fun and would defo recommend it

Hi Leds

Yes its all true I am starting the M25 leauge next March after over 18 months of research this is what the teams have been asking for.

All 7 man, all sup air, good venues, 4500psi air.

Moose to ultimate and my regular squad Paul, Rommel, Neil and Trevor as consistant impartial feild ultimates.

I have been inviting teams to marshal and all so far are very excited about this.

The ground work is all in place, now I need the rest of the teams who are intrested to make them selfs known.

So call me on 01296 434 336 or email me here or at patrina@diablopaintballing.com

LedZZZZ is satans love child!!

I dont want one southern League.... I want seven!

The southern tournament scene is terrible, I would luv to see Bully running a southern series of the same quality as the Northern with a National playoff for the best teams of both North + South. - Gets my vote, in fact makes me a little moist :p

Bring it orn!!
