back on the old angel ir3 there was an option to lock your gun via pin number it was very good, easy to use and left me in compleat faith ...can eclipse not muster together an upgrade for the ego as its h.u.d(heads up display) is simaler(and of course way better)......................................can every one hold off on your thoughts/posts and lets get an eclipse official to tell me 'no they cant' .......
well tbh you already have your answer. WDP did it years ago and so it is a viable idea.

Notice though, on all the recent angel models it just hasn't been there. (i think) so maybe WDP thought it was a useless gimic and got rid of it.

Fact is there are so many after market boards out there now that you could rob the marker, drop a new board in for next to nothing and have a fully functioning gat. Only when they start bringing iris scans or thumbprint scans in will it become more secure.

Perhaps a better solution would be to drop a mini thumbprint scanner in like they have on laptops. They would fit on the back of a grip frame with ease and would be far more secure than a pin. If the board is taken out without disabling the scanner then the marker can't work. To disable the scanner you have to have scan your thumb and then select it from a list of options.

That, with bluetooth would be perfect. Ohh and it to be able to make you invisible...ohh and enable you to fly, that would be kl!:D

guys no more posts please, your thoughts are welcomed lets just get an official to answer before we all start becoming electronics experts

seeing as you got an answer from planet surely its fair game now?

plus logic dictates to most people that a board lock wont put off most people with an IQ over 10 from nicking a marker, they will see that they can just get an aftermarket board (available for most guns worth nicking these days)

love tone i suppose your right but i just wanted to delay the onslaught of posts and ideas untill someone official said 'yep hold on then seen as every body wants one ill see what i can do' .....so heres my two ideas then ........marker rack+chain(through the triggers)+lock=safe...........or electronicly again like the angel they used to have keys to turn them on we could have a sort of pin/keycard to start them up

yes we are all electronics experts. So quite what your complaining about is anybodies guess.

Id guess the way the design process at planet works would be similar to every other place that a design process works. They have a think about it, then they go searching for other peoples thoughts about it and then they come up with a solution. And as lovetone said you've had a response from planet. You won't get an official response because it doesn't need one.

chris, if the board was tied to the thumbprint and the the solenid to the board then it would work. i.e. for the board to work it must be activated by a correct thumbprint. For the solenoid to work it must be the corresponding board that activivates it. Not too sure about how to get to work but im sure it could be done somehow, there's also a simpler way im sure.

Anyone read/seen the davinci code? Would a papyrus solenoid work though ;)

Marker thefts at events seems to be on the increase, so why don't organisers start providing lockers? Why do people insist on walking about with their markers when they could lock them all up in a car/van that can be watched over?

I know it's harsh to say but if you keep your marker locked up and safe no-one can nick it! It's easier to prevent theft than deter it with electronic locks etc. Take cars, which is more likely to stop your car from getting stolen? An Alarm on it or putting it in a garage?
