Tha person should actually get an award for that...

Newboy i really don't know why you are so stuck up about the Snowed in ness.. Would 99% of people (not you) perfer either A) Struggle to go to work where everyone else has stayed in anyway or B) Stay at home and enjoy the snow for the 5 days a year we have it...

Check your Priorities...

I'm a country member!
I don't buy in to all this "Iam snowed in" rubbish. It is really so bad you can't open the door and walk to work? Unless you live very high up in Scotland, sounds like a typical British attitude, couple of inches of snow and everyone is "snowed in"! Yeah right!
I would be quite happy to walk to work, if I had any, I have had all my clients call me and cancel this week due to the weather. I have about a foot of snow here and have walked to the shops etc. Today I took a different route through a fairly large housing estate, many of the occupants must be going stir crazy as they were digging their cars & drives out. When you got to the end of that the road may have looked clear but was covered in black ice between the snow tracks. There were 4x4s, trucks & vans doing the sensible thing, driving carefully through it, then some idiot going twice as fast in the opposite direction with his car still covered in a thick layer of snow with just part of the windscreen cleared, shielding his eyes from the sun with one hand. I had to s****** as I passed the guy digging his Jag out, having obviously just slid it over the curb, luckily fior him some nice chap in a HiLux stopped to tow him out. The main road had been gritted but was still pretty slushed up. Lidl, bless them, had a digger clearing the car park and a truck spreading grit on it. Smally was right, even where YOU can make it, your progress depends on the ability of others too.

People are genuinely snowed in, employers are starting to say they will dock pay/holiday if people take a third day off due to this, I can see tomorrow being a right mess on the roads if people are forced to venture out through fear of loss of income. There have been about 3 deaths on the roads today due to the weather, I'm sure I wouldn't want that on my shoulders.

If I don't work, I don't earn, so, pretty as it might be, the inability of our nation to cope with a bit of snow sucks.

I had a message this morning that I have a package coming from Sweden, its -28C there, I bet that it will be held up for delivery at this end!
