I don't know whether withholding one would be classed as anti-competitive behaviour or not, there is something about patents not being used to stifle technological developement. However those are UK things, so there may not be equivilants in the US legal system.

I think you'll find that sp will get a licence from wdp, and continue supplying their products, with maybe a "little" price increase..
