But: If the company is responsible for many of its peers going out of business, it takes the edge off any sympathy I could feel for them.

as far as i was aware SP ceased production at their US factorys about two months ago and halted supplies to dealers. It looks to me like Smart Parts has become Richmond Italias new toy with GIMilsim selling the luxe and impulse as their own guns and the SP brothers named as top boys at GI.
Hope this means job losses at xmas are minimal and the staff just move to GI.
As for smartparts not releasing anything for years there was the vibe for new players, the impulse and as said the luxe. also im sure they invented paintball in all its forms and have a patent on the barrel and the word paintball and will sue anyone they here using the word.

yes i no what your saying and i feel for the companys that went out of business, and also to the people that lost there jobs there!
its life, and now the same has happend to sp, which again has to be bad for the sport!
and saying they havnt released a relvent product since the shocker is just not true,
the impulse is still a very good marker and that was released under sp, although i never thought it would turn any of the planet boys it still shot quite nice and was quite well made,
and i no the luxe wasnt branded as sp but everybody knows that it is sp in essence, and without a a shadow of a doubt the best gun i have ever shot!

as far as i was aware(and still belive to be true) the DLX (creators of the luxe) are a seprate company entirerly however the luxes are just built in the SP Facory and therefore have alot of similar fetures
it is in essence a extremly refined shocker! on the way the interanals work, and yes is a seperate company.... you can believe what you want on how the company is actually owned and how they design of the luxe came about.

Although the Lux is injection moulded which makes me wonder what they actually build at the SP factory.
Put the last screw in so you can claim its made in the USA?
no better than any other high end gun tbh...
it is what it says in the name luxuary but the way it shoots isnt alot diffrent to other spoolies
