Not SP Europe, which as we know has already gone.

Not the recent downsizing and layoffs.

Latest info circulating on other forums is the SP dealers have been unable to order any new stock and told that the company will be closing in January.

Could be a scurrilous rumour, but getting the same story for multiple sources.

Regardless if you like SP products or not this is a massive blow to paintball.
I don't see how? They haven't released a relevant product since the shocker and how long ago was that?

All they did was try for a time to make money out of something they claimed to have intellectual rights on and stopped being competitive in a market where superior products were being developed all the time!

It is NOT a SP branded gun though its a DLX. SP tried brand seperation because the SP brand was a dying one. Ask yourself why they didn't release the Luxe as an SP marker, and instead decided to go for a new brand altogether? ;) For the same reason they have jumped in with GI and will have passed a lot of the dev costs over to SP for things like the .50 cal Impy & Luxe at a guess...

My view is totaly from past experiences with SP products, the last item i bought new was an sft and before that a nerve, so i understand that they may have not been cutting edge and at the forefront of development, but a lot of thanks has to go to SP for making paintball affordable with the Ion.

maybe correct why they branded the luxe under a diffrent name, but still cutting edge and still a sp marker at heart,

and i also agree with the ion statement,

as i said before they may of made some bad decisions etc but not nice to see people go out of business, and for our sport which is struggling anyways, as many diffrent companys involved has got to be a good thing for us.. the player
