Some paintball history:Originally posted by Sandown
we used to play with 62 cal in the UK, Rps use to make them for Skirmish at there factory down in the west country. But they moved production of paint back across the pond plus Skirmish fell in to line and went over to 68cal. (Ah them was the day £1 a tube of ten. It was a long time ago so numbers may be incorrect)
I vaguely remember RPS trying a 65cal paint this was back in the pump days where you just had to buy a 65cal barrel to replace your stock 68cal. sort of a hybrid size paint it died a quick death.
Skirmish used the splatoon markers, (in fact used 3 versions of them) those guns all fired .62 and used compressed air to get around Co2 laws in the late 80's.
Tippman made the SMG60 which actually fired .62 paintballs but were hard to use in this country as they were full auto.
and yes for a quid a tube there was way less firing going on.
