i dont know if this has been posted before, afterall i have been offline for a yaer
I have been thinking about all the new gats comming out with their new smaller and lighter bodies.
and i came to the conclusion that they could bring out a new line
of smaller paintballs so that guns could ultimately be made smaller. obveiously you can have guns that are too small, but as a front player, i wouldnt mind a small gat :D

i think one of the reasons that paintball markers arnt classified as fire arms is due to the large bore size, start reduceing that and you may run into problems....back in the day there was a .50 cal

Plus, smaller paintballs will bounce more than what we use already. Take the blow pipe toys you can get for example

we used to play with 62 cal in the UK, Rps use to make them for Skirmish at there factory down in the west country. But they moved production of paint back across the pond plus Skirmish fell in to line and went over to 68cal. (Ah them was the day £1 a tube of ten. It was a long time ago so numbers may be incorrect)

I vaguely remember RPS trying a 65cal paint this was back in the pump days where you just had to buy a 65cal barrel to replace your stock 68cal. sort of a hybrid size paint it died a quick death.
