Anyone else agree that the amount of diving headfirst we seem to see nowadays it a little over the level actually required? It used to be, someone would dive, and you'd go "Wow. Way to work it". Now it almost seems compulsory for front guys (Or gals I guess) to dive into cover (Guess the major reason might be when you see it on video or in a mag, the guy knows his pics being taken).
I'll admit it has its place, when you need to get low, quick, to get under a line or paint or to get into low cover. But for all the times I've seen someone's hopper come off, barrel full of dirt, air system come away, MASK COME OFF, it doesn't seem to me the amount of diving you see nowadays matches the amount actually required. With a knee slide, you recover faster, your gun and head are up, etc.
Or is it just me?
