Lost if u get a Ion like Kill crazy Said you will have to spend a bit more on hopper and that and if you want to run it on co2 a would recomend a anti syphon thingy lol it stops the seals from losing the sealing capability due to the co2
and you will need a q-lock or ya hopper will fall off

in all honesty ur better off gettin the tippy cos there is a gd chance that when u start playin with that u'll want 2 play a walk-on and then u'll want 2 play more walk-ons n then...well u can see were this is goin. so when the time comes u can upgrade and move on from the tippy.

On a side note, I attended sunday's Walkon at Campaign and saw the difference between Ion's and Tippman's there.

The Tourney markers such as the Ion, Angel, Ego's that were there were great for short range rapid fire. They utterly ruled on the Speed ball field, and the close quarters matches they had a lot of advantages. People with Tippy's tended to keep their heads down on the Speedball field as they couldn't compete with the hail of paint coming from the Tourney markers.

The Tippman's, A5's, 95's, 98's and other Scenario/Woods markers had the advantage of range and accuracy. They couldn't keep up at short range or rate of fire but they could outshoot a tourney marker at range. Something I found out all too well on a few occasions when I got sniped by Tippy's from range :)

Ultimately you need to decide what you want to use it for. Do you want to play some Walk-on's and then progress on to Tournament play....then go for the Ion.

If you are intending on being a Walkon and scenario player only then the Tippmann's are a better bet for you. :)

Or better yet, go to the next Walkon and ask people there if you can try out their markers. Everyone's friendly and will probably be more than willing to let you have a little play and they can fill you in on the pro's and con's of their particular marker. :)

Lost perhaps you should be thinking of attending proper walk-on instead of puinter days where you can get the best use of your equipment.
I'm not for or against ION's but they are very popular and cheap so perhaps ideal for what you want.
You could turn up @ punters days with an IOn or something similar but it won't be long before an irate punter wants to wrap it round your neck for overshooting his younger brother, chick, nan;not because you have but he perceives you have because your marker is quicker and more accurate than the site stuff...personally I believe something like a mech cocker would equal or be better than most site markers and cause less upset...:D

but neither does aluminum. which is what an A5 is made of. ;)
rust is corrosion, aluminium corrodes as much as iron. It's effectivly coated with a small layer of oxidised aluminium (rust) that prevents the rest of it from oxidising, but as soon as that layer is scratched, the aluminium underneath is exposed to more oxidisation.

Ultimately, it'll rust, but not as quickly and your marker internals will be oiled anyway, to prevent internal rusting.

I reckon an A5 would be a good option...

yes if you scratch aluminium it will expose some unoxidised metal which will then oxidise in the air but the layer of oxide is literally so thin you wouldnt notice also its very stable, it wont flake off like rust on iron or steel, you'll be left with a slightly 'duller' scratch than u started with, this isnt at all what Lost was asking but still...

as for the actual point here, ions are ok, not bad but do need some tlc which isnt what u want to give to a marker your only going to use ocasionally lol, i aggree with the others get a tippy or a spyder, you can even get electro grip spyders capable of fairly good rates of fire (ive got a spyder pilot from way back) but then you'll need to spend a little more on a hopper so you dont chop
