Ok Richard i see your point about the way the final game ended
It did seem an anti-climax but what happens is as follows -
1, Outright score advantage wins - if draw then see "2"
2, First team to grab opponents flag wins - if no flag grab then see "3"
3, Team with least penalty points (in that game) wins - if no winner see "4"
4, Team with first points gained in the game (first body count) wins - if no winner see "5"
5, If the teams played each other in the prelims the winner of that game wins - if no winner see "6"
6, Team with highest score in the prelims wins - if no winner see "7"
7, Team with least number of penalty points in the prelims wins - if no winner see "8"
8, Team captains and the tournament ultimate decide what course of action to take to find a winner.
In the game at STB we reached line 4 to find a winner if anyone can suggest any other way to decide a winner let us know we will be happy to take on board any suggestions.

How about a penalty shoot out
each player has a one on one with the other team
so 5 man there are 5 one on one's etc
each player can only go once
team with the highest score, well wins.

Many moons ago, I remember guesting for a team (I think it was the SS Wolves), and when a draw was reached in the quarter finals, it went like this: Every member of the team was chronoed, kind of like a penalty shootout, the first team to be found to have a hot gun, lost the game. When all the players were found to have clean guns, the captains chose one player from their team, and they played a 1 on 1 to decide.
It does sound good, but imagine the arguments caused if both players shot each other at th same time
I think the way that it is done at the moment, is adequate enough. It encourages the teams to be aggressive, fair and consistant throughout the whole day.

The aim of the game is to bring the opposition flag back home, right? Why re-run the game, just run it until someone has the flag - if this means a sprint between two players to see who gets the flag back first, then so be it.
Personally I reckon it'd be funny to watch 'ballers slowly realising that no-one has any paint left, then legging it for the respective flags.
