'in ya face baby!'
for all those that watched the finals, can you belive what the camera men did to Cyclone in their game?

for anyone that did not see the finals, they basically followed the guy up the snake from like 2 feet away and gave away his position perfectly for the opposition to just push their gun round the corner and take them out!

the guys that would be protecting me in that snake said they would have pooned the camera men big time if we had been in that situation, cos they basically cost Cyclone the chance of 1st or 2nd!

i fully endorce the requirement for TV, DVD's etc of major tourneys but, they have a professional responsiblility to the teams playing, they could have been a little further away and zoomed in.

would you guys have shot the camera, are we allowed or would we be eliminated?

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
I would have shot the camera man, no question!

Its difficult enough trying to pull a sneaky manouver with a Marshal hovering around to give you away, never mind some muppet with a sony!

it was bang out of order.
Trauma head sports should compensate Cyclone for that.
I feel sorry for Cyclone, because they played really well, and were a real treat to watch.
The off the break run past the boxes and down the snake was great!

If i was the guy in the back corner or in the big square lay down protecting my player in the snake i would have shot the cameraman or shot the camera. If he is gonna be a jerk, and cost my team the game i would do whatever i could to stop him giving away my players position. Surely he could have sat up high and used his zoom lense rather than be 2 feet away from the crawler?!?!?!

For those who weren't there, it wasnt a guy with a video camera, it was a guy on a raised seat, moving along the side of the field on one of those tracks (like a mini train track) as he could rise and lower himself over about a twenty foot high difference, it was painfully obvious to all on field when he was one foot off the ground with his big camera pointed down onto the crawling player.

I'm a freelance photographer and one of the things I'd be worried about when shooting Pball games is giving away a players position, its tricky because obviously you want to get the best shot for the DVD or mag or whatever..

With the setup you described with the camera on rails, they should probably have made a mount that hides the camera so people can't see what direction it is pointing in, and positioned it a bit further off field (I assume it was right on the tape?)

the base was set a little bit back fro mthe tape, but the extendable arm the guy was sittin on looked as though it had the capability to come well in to the game field area. when the guy was in the snake, the camera was about three feet away from him following him as he crawled.
