I thought I had;)

But let us be aware of the fact that they have to now enforce the rule and in my years of experence at these events it will not get done.

Have you ever checked out the lenth of pants used bye the top teams so when they are put on they ruffle up so they cause bouncers.

The best thing about Series 2003 and The midland masters is WE seem to be showing common sense on this suject and if anyone turned up in any attire that we thought was unfair it would not be allowed to be used.

Anyone any thoughts on gloves with finger padding!!!!!!!

Chris

What are you suggesting mate? Me, biased? Surely not!! :D :p :D

Russel,

You fail to understand the point, gloves are allowed in the rules. Padding, other than at elbow and knee, is not. Its not like the rule says no Dye tops, what it says is:

Immediate Rule Changes for the 2003 Season
You are not allowed to play with jerseys with padding sewn into the shoulders and only a single layer of padding is allowed on the elbow.

Simple, the Dye tops do not adhere to this rule.

Follow this arguement- you will allow padded tops because the padding will possibly allow one bounce every 100 shots, not really a problem is it, 1%, hardly a big number.
However, would you allow a marker that fired twice on a single trigger pull but it only happened every 100th shot? Probably not but it is the same issue.
Rules are there to put a line in the sand and let everyone know where they can not go - simple as far as I see.

I personally think allowing these tops sets a dangerous precedent....

Next year the 2004 tops will have slightly thicker padding and it will cover a slightly larger area for "improved comfort when your marker is raised"

come 2008 we will all be playing in those fake summo wrestling suits ;) overdramatising? yes probably...

By the NPPL and Millenium banning them it may stop that sort of development, after all DYE will lose out over this and next year I bet the tops arent padded in the shoulder area.

I know this may come as a wee blow to the old ego but the Millennium and NPPL have not followed your lead. They may have come to a similar descision but I highly doubt it was based on yours. The NPPL, with 3 members of the Millennium Board in attendance, decided that the Dye shirts were legal for NPPL events and, as with all the rules, the Millennium have taken that lead and implemented the same. I assume that an announcement from Karlijn superceeding the Press release currently displayed on teh Millennium website.
Whether or not you conside this right makes little differnece now, the descision has been made.

On a side note, Russell - that is good advice, our tops are the best made by anyone (padding or no padding!)
