Domestic paintball is TOO regional at the moment, it needs to expand to cover the whole UK.
A lot of players can travel and will but the quality of the games, fields and even prizes will draw them to the tourneys not just knowing it is 7 or 5 man format.
My thoughts exactly.Another nail in the coffin of UK paintball ?:(

The problem this year would seem to be TO MUCH choice for tournaments.

We have about half a dozen difference series to check out plus the majors.

PA League
NSPL
Masters
Series 2K6
Pro-Tour
Dartford 7's
SE village

Plus of course Millenium and NPPL / NXL if you are a pro team.

Its getting very very crowded for the players re events and many of these events will see lower turn-outs because of it.

I wouldn't count the pro tour, thats a different kettle of fish, you HAVE to turn up for that if you are in it.

I say support Bullys 7man Semi auto in the north if you are above or on the Nottingham area. :)

But please Bully, get rid of Elsham off your sites list, it's just doesn't cut the mustard. ;)

As JCS Leisure / Atmosphere sponsor Series 2006 and also independently sponsor the events at Elsham, kindly explain why it should be.

And as Elsham is the most northerly recognised venue capable of holding a large event

Couple of points

We did speak to each other, when we had a meeting last year that all event organisers were invited to. The outcome was another 7 man series which was originally to be organised near Milton Keynes but due to circumstances beyond their control had to be moved to a site close to J20. I had decided to concentrate the 7 man event at two venues as both site owners had made a commitment to supply the fields etc....... As the Masters were using Uttoxetter regularly I decided not to use the site to prevent the venue being over played and the fields/safe area suffering from excess tournies.

I also reduced the number of 7 man events in SK6 from 8 to 6 tournies and the PA reduced their team entry both to work hand in hand to give teams choice and encourage a stable team base at each event, but then the Master proposed their event. This meant that 7 man events increased in number and this"waters down" the number of teams.

On the prize front - NO UK event last year gave more away to teams in prizes and we would continue our prize policy in 2006. (188,000 paintball - free entry to Campaign - £4000 in products in 2005)

As far as Elsham - we all forget the days when it was hot and only remember the wet days (they were wet - I agree) but I would recon over the last 10 years there have been more dry events than wet !!

Hope this answers a few points

Just a thought:

What will happen if the SK6 stops their 7 man events will the UK
Masters be able to cope with the teams. They must already have several teams booked in plus I am sure the teams who want to play the SK6 will be looking for another place to play can they cope??
