In answer

Further to a call I had last might I feel that I must explain the situation with the Series 2006.

Basically I run my events as a business and there is a break even point with any event. This varies between locations and number of teams playing. At the last two events in 2005 the attendance was low, the only reason they ran was a commitment had been made and I and the site owners honoured our commitment to the teams who supported my event. This year we already seem to be facing a low entry at the events.

Various questions can be asked about the events, organiser, format, location, costs, prizes, etc...................... but at the end of the day it boils down to one thing - The series 2006 will not run if the teams don't support the event.

Please note this is not "sabre" rattling, a threat to encourage teams to book in it is a reality check.

I was asked last night if the event on the 12th would run with just 12 teams, the simple answer is NO, neither will the Strictly novice event with only 2 confirmed and 5 provisional run the week after.

With the UK master having 50 teams 5 man teams is that an indication that 7 man format is finished at regional level in the UK?

I would hope not but bookings seem to confirm this !!!

A decision will be made on 1 Febraury if the SK6 goes ahead in it's present format.

I think one of the problems is that the Masters will now have a 7 man series aswell as it's standard 5 man and this is the direct competition. In my view it shouldn't be a competition between organisers at all so why don't you guys speak to each other more?
Domestic paintball is TOO regional at the moment, it needs to expand to cover the whole UK.
A lot of players can travel and will but the quality of the games, fields and even prizes will draw them to the tourneys not just knowing it is 7 or 5 man format.

Overlap could be the issue with the MM and series basically being in the same patch.

The Series used to be the North of England event and the MM the Midlands etc.,

Maybe it is time for a regional frame work to be agreed leading to a national (Which they did once before) to decide who is the best.

Who knows, are there enough northern teams to support a northern league, I know the Scots would be happy to have less distance to travel.
