Sorry to dig up an old thread but it's the only info I can find , interested in buying some 13ci guerrilla air tanks that have dates 2010 & 2011 stamped in them obvious these are 5 yrs old but the seller says there is no other date on the bottle.

So do they need a hydro test as I've read some don't because their so small , how true is this .

To be honest the gi are only £32 new from JP so can't see it's worth justifying paying for a re test
Thanks
13ci aluminium cylinders are exempt in the UK /Europe and the US due to their compact size.

In the US, DOT marked 13 ci cylinders are exempt due to the 2 by 2 rule - It must be smaller than 2" diameter by 2' length
In the UK, Pi marked cylinders are exempt by being smaller than 0.5 litres

The condition becomes more important over time, there is little that can happen to the cylinder itself. Don't dump it in a shed for years, and be ready to replace the burst disk one day.

If it were not for the exemption then aluminium cylinders in the UK are also valid for 10 years between tests rather than 5.
The cylinder will have its born date stamped, and may have a 5 year duration painted on it, youu can ignore this, but some sites / staff may not.
Refer them to the ukpsf / hpac
