Just read on Warpig that it seems that there's some big controversy goin down at Cup!!

Seems that in a game between Gz and Shock,GZ had some guys in the dead box wondering how they could have been shot in the back??Then they reported Pete Utschig of GZ spotted someone in the woods near the field and chased the person down in the woods and they caught Jeremy Salm of Avalanche with a paintball gun!!

They reported that Salm is suspended for 2003 and Avalanche is out ouf tourney!!Seems like some very bad blood brewing between Mr.Poorman and Mr.Braun:(

Tj or Baca-Can u verify this???

OMG

Well, in the other thread about the Warped withdrawl I rumoured the bad blood thing.

But that's just going waaayyyy too far.

However - if he was sensible enough to wear all black and a black gun, why wouldn't he cover his very obvious blonde hair?

That idiot Salm! I told him he could borrow my camo and I even gave him one of my green Swedish Army bandanas to cover his blond head. He was just too vain. Gotta look cool at all times no matter whut!

PS. Looks like Ed found a way to get in his "lewd behavior" into the Cup. Dandy way to thumb your nose at the PSP and say goodbye before moving on to X-Ball! I'm sure they are all piss-drunk right now, having the laughs of their lives. (Wonder if Salm got an ass-kicking when he got caught?)

Unbelievable!!!

If this is ture then its totally shocking. I'll reserve judgement until its confirmed but if it is Avalanche can expect some serious negative publicity from this.

I don't care what they do to Salm.... **** will fly and some of it will stick to Ed's boys. You can count on it.

On another note, Salm banned, Cash money off to shock.... Is this the beginning of the end or will La Soya et al turn it around for X ball next year?

Nope..Just click on World Cup event coverage and read away..Its all the way at the bottom though..If ya still cant find it here it is..

Friday afternoon saw a controversial game that will no doubt be the subject of conversation for years to come. Ground Zero Gold faced Avalanche in the preliminary rounds on the National Paintball Supply field, on the South edge of the tournament complex. After a few GZ players were eliminated, they stood in the dead box trying to figure out who had shot them. They had been hit in the back. GZ player Pete Utschig looked out in the woods and spotted some blond hair. He bolted from the dead box, and reportedly chased down and apprehended Jeremy Salm of Avalanche dressed in black, with a black paintgun.

Statements had been made prior to the game that Salm was ill, so Avalanche team owner and retired player Ed Poorman was playing in his place on Friday. The decisions that resulted from the game
were that Avalanche forfeited their points for the game, was withdrawn from the tournament, and Salm would be suspended from NPPL/PSP tournaments for the 2003 season.

"We, Team Avalanche, would like to apologize to our sponsors and our fans for the actions of one individual, who is no longer on our team. Although, as a team we take full responsibility, we would like everyone to understand that we were unaware of what had transpired until after the fact. Also, we would like to state that the decision made by the rules committee was the correct one.

Stay tuned to WARPIG.com, the Official Internet Resource of the NPPL for continuing on-scene coverage of the 2002 Paintball World Cup.

jesus!!!!! you have to wonder if Lanche really didnt know what was going on, after all they are more of a family than a team. surely they would know what salm was gonna do.

i thought that Lanche were a good enough team not to need to cheat!!! this is more a story out of a magazine rather than an actual accountof what happened at the World Cup. How the hell did he think he would get away with it???!!!!!!

what a fool........well i guess that this means shock are a man down...(two if you count Cash money leaving for Aftershock......so i guess it wont be long before i am on the same team as rabackoff and co......just jokin!! lol:p
