Please note that I'm completely neutral on the ramping/15bps ruling (hardly ever play thse days, & my marker hasn't got the right software anyway), but one thing does come to mind. Tournament organisers keep on getting slagged off for not using international rules, but this new rule IS bringing them more into line with international rules. So how can they win in this situation - leave the rules as they were & get people complaining about inconsistencies across rule books, or change them to comply and get people complaining they don't like the new rule? Real catch 22 here!
