Mark , you are arguing against yourself. Or at least thats what it seems like. I've been reading this thread on and off all day ( I'm at work , and should be doing other stuff ).
Anyway , you say its not safe , but then say its not the safety issue , its the extra risk. What exactly is the extra risk?
Is it the 15 BPS? No , because ( by your own words ) most people can attain 15BPS or more anyway. Plus we have always had cheater boards. Now its just that everyone has the option to ramp.
Is it the simple fact that we have a ramp ( not a cheater board. Its only a cheater board if its against the rules ) , well , by your own admission , there are numerous cheater boards out there already. Oh , maybe its the boards that are ramping above 15BPS , or velocity ramping? Well , they are out there already , and changing it back to how it was wont stop them , it never did ( Paul has proven this , he knows someone that has used , and does use ramp in other series ) and I'm damn sure you do too. At least now it can be policed properly.
You come up with ways to police it , they are not realistic , or in some cases , they are not even possible. Surely you must realise that some of what you are saying is a bit fantasy land?
At the end of the day , ramping has been about for a long time. Only a special few had access to it. How is that fair , and if we dont know who is using it , how is that safe? Changing it back to the old system wont help , we'd still have them , and the rates of fire would be uncapped and uncheckable again.
In my opinion ( and lots of other peoples ) Sunday showed that the ramping did not hurt the game ( in respect of loss of skills , or movement , or in enjoyment ). I dont think there was any issue of overkill ( no more than usual ) , and as far as I am aware , no-one was hurt.
Ive read somewhere from the anti ramp people , quoting phrases like "you cant say its safe after only one event , its not enough of a test " , so how can you say its enough of a test to show that it does not work , and is not safe?
Mad dog , I've known you for a long time , I know what you're like , but to be honest mate , you are starting to sound a bit of a muppet. I think its time you stopped this campaign and just deal with it. In fact you dont even need to deal with it anymore , 'cus you have decided to stop playing the PA. Its a shame , and no doubt someone will miss you ( although that does not happen very often does it?

I really dont know why you've taken such a dislike to this ruling , and others that the PA have introduced. Run before we can walk maybe? I dont think so. If there are rules that could improve the game , why wait to implement them?
