if any gun is chrono'd to 300fps or whatever it will fire the same distance - the apex will give you a longer range with loss of impact and the flatline will do the same . TBH ive been to a few walk-ons and there has always been issues with hot markers and Co2 spikes and blatant cheating - joking asides i would stick with what youve got (i bought an apex to see what the hype was about and there pretty cool but just a toy really so only buy if you've got the disposable cash) and as tiger would say - if you want extra range - tilt the gun up.
