Ok Loki as I am the ultimate of those events this will proberly be of interest to you.Originally posted by Loki *Uk*
I have just ordered a QLOADER and DW told me he had heard it was illegal, I can half understand why it might be considered illegal as it is not a 'gravity fed' feed system.
I would like an opinion of the major tournament organisers (especially the PA league and Series 2K4) as to whether this feed system would be deemed inappropriate?
Thanks in advance
From the Paintball Association Rulebook. 2004
"Hoppers
Any item specifically designed to be attached to the paintball gun as a magazine and for the feeding and loading of paintballs into the gun is hereafter referred to as the Hopper.
Each player may carry a maximum of two hoppers onto the field but only one may be attached to the paintball gun at any time. Only the hopper attached to the gun for the purpose of feeding & loading may be taken onto the pitch. If the hopper cannot be safely secured to the gun prior to the 30-second call then the referee can refuse to allow that player access to the pitch. The player may go onto the pitch without a hopper if they choose and will suffer no further penalty.
Neoprene or any material, which in the opinion of the referee may increase the chance of a paintball not bursting should it impact on the hopper, may not cover hoppers.
A hopper may be of any single colour be it translucent, opaque or solid. Hoppers comprising two or more piece shells of differing colours are prohibited.
Note 8: Additional feed & loading mechanisms between the hopper & the gun are legal & may be used but only one such mechanism may be fitted to the gun at any time."
Hope that helps.
