Question to the Leagues and UKPSF

I have just ordered a QLOADER and DW told me he had heard it was illegal, I can half understand why it might be considered illegal as it is not a 'gravity fed' feed system.

I would like an opinion of the major tournament organisers (especially the PA league and Series 2K4) as to whether this feed system would be deemed inappropriate?

Thanks in advance
Ok Loki as I am the ultimate of those events this will proberly be of interest to you.

From the Paintball Association Rulebook. 2004

"Hoppers

Any item specifically designed to be attached to the paintball gun as a magazine and for the feeding and loading of paintballs into the gun is hereafter referred to as the Hopper.

Each player may carry a maximum of two hoppers onto the field but only one may be attached to the paintball gun at any time. Only the hopper attached to the gun for the purpose of feeding & loading may be taken onto the pitch. If the hopper cannot be safely secured to the gun prior to the 30-second call then the referee can refuse to allow that player access to the pitch. The player may go onto the pitch without a hopper if they choose and will suffer no further penalty.

Neoprene or any material, which in the opinion of the referee may increase the chance of a paintball not bursting should it impact on the hopper, may not cover hoppers.

A hopper may be of any single colour be it translucent, opaque or solid. Hoppers comprising two or more piece shells of differing colours are prohibited.

Note 8: Additional feed & loading mechanisms between the hopper & the gun are legal & may be used but only one such mechanism may be fitted to the gun at any time."

Hope that helps.

Russ, would you mind clarifying the above for me, particularly the bit in bold.

The way it reads to me is that you can go out to the game carrying two hoppers, but can only actually play the game with one, and can't carry the spare into the game.

Which in terms of the Q-Loader, taking the rules to the extreme, would mean that you could only carry the one loader, and no other pots?
Or would the Q-Loader be viewed thus:

The loader tubes are like pots, and the bit which is permanently fastened to the marker is the hopper?

So I'll assume that you marker is firing now then? Or have you bought more pointless stuff without saying anything to the team?
Are you playing at the next practice? (8th) or the tourney on the 15th? or have you spent all your money on stuff you don't need?
The q loader won't be here for about two months anyway, they aren't even finished yet. And I'm waiting on one to try out before I approach AI about a bulk team deal. You've done it again mate.
It may not be worth the team using it, we won't know until we've had a go...... but if not then that's two we'll have. Also, I'm waiting for news on sponsorship deals that would tie us to a specific supplier so the q-loader would be out anyway. How many times mate, give us a yell before you buy stuff..... it'll save you wasting money. I'm loaning out five markers to players so the team can run properly, and you were one of those who was fully kitted out...... but you haven't played since August.

Iaan,

I don't feel this is the media which should be used for feedback such as yours. I can only make decisions based on the informaton I have to hand. I am sure we will chat about this later in the week when I pop down to yours to see you.

It's just the place to do it......... 'cos you don't listen anywhere else :)
And as for popping round? well the last three times you've decided not to about two hours in advance.
Back to the original question......... are you playing next week? or the week after?

We'll see what the q-loader is like when they arrive. And as for only being able to act on the information you have to hand? well everyone else seems to manage just fine..... Chris called last week before ordering his new speed. Or should I phone you every couple of days to see what's happening? I'm sure I'll be able to do that for all 17 players on the roster. Of course, I'll have to quit work.

Russ, what's the point of this bit in bold in the rule?

Does a powerfeed count as a loading mechanism? If so then how can I have that and a warp on my gun? What about air assist hose?

Is there any reason to have that rule? It seems a bit silly and I can't see any benefits to having it?

Why not just allow them to be used?

I think you have not read the rules as written for the pa league.!
We are gonna have white lined pitches (the part you play the game) and that is inside the field, so you can take your hoppers to the field and choose the one you want to use and put that on your marker to use on the pitch.
I know it does sound a little bit ott but we had to write the rules with an eye on the bigger picture that some people may not be aware of.
After your first event it will become very clear.:)

Honest!
