I have just ordered a QLOADER and DW told me he had heard it was illegal, I can half understand why it might be considered illegal as it is not a 'gravity fed' feed system.

I would like an opinion of the major tournament organisers (especially the PA league and Series 2K4) as to whether this feed system would be deemed inappropriate?

Thanks in advance

need to get hold of Tank for an exit
An Eggy-lution is barely gravity feed, and Halos and Warp Feeds certainly aren't.

I would be pretty confident in saying that any rules regarding gravity feed only are now either non-existant, or just plain ignored for being silly and irrelevant these days.

gravity fed

not sure but I thought the old gravity fed rule was to do with the firearm laws and markers being exempt because of their feed mechanism. This has to be outdated now as airsoft are not gravity fed.

They are according to the ASTM guidelines which were in place at the time they were designed.

The guideline was simply, if you turned it upside down and it stopped feeding all of the paintballs inside, then it was gravity feed.

This old rule may be why people are questioning the Q-loader? since it will work upside down or whatever. I haven't checked the latest guide lines to see if that rule is in place or not.

Si,

I understand the spring loaded part but surely a PT extreme with a strong enough spring would fall into the 'not gravity fed arena'?

Yes.

But then I haven't seen anyone using a PT Extreme in the NPPL, PSP, MS, or any other tournaments for that matter... :D ;) :)

To be honest I don't think it is an issue anymore, but I can't say for certain as I haven't checked the regulations nor the most recent rules, and so I wouldn't want to give out bad info.
