On Sunday, Todd Martinez decided to take a PSP-rented golf cart for a joy ride through the awards ceremony. He crashed the golf cart into the guide wires anchoring one of the tripod poles, which hold the net up on the NXL field. The tripod pole was bent and is no longer usable. The golf cart was damaged and PSP has been billed for the repairs. He will be suspended from play for 1 year. He must reimburse PSP for the damages to the golf cart before he will be allowed on the property of any future PSP event.
whoah I'm surprise to hear that

Good to hear the PSP are taking such a hard stance, should dissuade people from doing it in the future
maybe
good to see the stance against the team who cheated the system to win the Div 3 Xball

and anyone know the extent of the damage? -what did they do, completely trash the rooms or what?

Cheated a ridiculous system - it's about time that all tourneys allowed whoever you can get on your team. Fine, make it so that squads must be submitted in advance, and a player can only be on one squad, but for the love of christ don't stop a team manager/captain from maximising his/her teams chances of winning a particular event.

If football worked in the same mindset as paintball, Chelsea would be getting slated for cheating their way to the Premier League, by buying the best players they can.

It's backwards rules like this that will ensure that paintball will stay a tin-pot hobby, rather than progress into a proper sport, with all the associated trappings that come with said status.

It's a good point...if Colchester United suddenly discover £50 million, they can buy top class players to play their way out of Div.2 and up towards the Premiership, why shouldn't Paintball teams be allowed to do the same?

And what about aging Pros? A lot of great footballers play the twilight of their careers in the lower divisions, why can't Paintballers?

It does in the cups, inc European. If you've already played for a team you are then cup tied. ;)
Good point about the cup tied, I'd forgotten about that, but in paintball wouldn't this more equate to an individual tournament?

EG a div three team that makes it to the Sunday club couldn't then suddenly be full of pros who didn't make it to their Sunday club.

However, a div three captain who suddenly wins the lottery, and can afford to pay some pros from the lower end of the pro div should be allowed to sign them up for the next tourney/remainder of the series.

I will hold up my hand and say I have no idea exactly what happened with Team Clutch, but it sounds more along the lines of the second scenario, rather than the first one, so I say more power to them.

I think americans have a different take on 'transfers'.
.
Yep, they take them through European airspace hooded and manacled, then drop them off at Guantanamo Bay where they...

Ah, sorry, wrong transfers, wrong message board.

ok, well I just see it as sandbagging, -they tried to cancel the classifications to get in better players than were allowed

so if I suddenly win the lottery and have enough to pay the members of Dynasty to play for me in Div 3 Xball, thats Ok?
agree that players should only be on one squad, and that rosters should be put in advance
I liked the system the PA used in the first year where you had to apply for transfers.

I don't see that as ok personally. See where you're coming from, but most of these players aren't permanent additions to the team, like Ollie and that guy off Shock to that team in Campaign 05

:D :D :D
Your right it is the wrong message board. People in Guantanamo bay would not be allowed to play paintball as they all wear orange and it would be a Refs nightmare.
