If it is X Ball or if it is some variation of the format I've heard discussed then let me suggest some obvious drills:
finishing the game quickly
planning and implementing power-plays
one on two or three and two or three on one, with short time left and not letting the clock run out without doing something
and most any basic gunfighting skills
The point here, like Robbo keeps saying, is to practice offensive PB, not counter-punch.
Keep that principle in mind and you will be safe for any format that's likely to come.
