The past results of Bullets have proven that even the best Pro Players can't get you the First Place for sure, I think that mercenaries, even the best ones, can't beat a good old fashionned team with players working together for a long time, in small tournaments and trainings.

Check last year's teams passing thu div1 (now SPL) to CPL => Kellys and Icon. No Pro Players, just family and teamplay to the maximum.

Beating Pro american players is good for your ego, being beaten by Pro american players is good for your skill, thoses guys don't forgive a mistake you may do on the field.

Once again Toulouse has made no exception, the Pros only managed to get 4th place against classic teams !

It's not about just first place - it's also about promotion and relegation - I think it is plain wrong that you can play in a lower division as a guest player - even if for the whole season.

Keep in mind people that this year it is 6 teams being relegated to the div. 1 and then (naturally!) 6 teams being promoted from the div. 1 up to SPL!

So it DOES have a lot to say - not only first place but all the way down the ranks....

Can you really see a way of policing it with out some kind of global player id cards? I mean would you be able to tell me every single player in the NXL? I know that roster lists are available but tbh very very few US pro players are recognisable. And if we did have a global id system in place what about the disparity between US teams and European teams in the lower divisions, and if all of these issues are solved who would run the id system? Would all leagues honour such a system? I for one wouldnt have thought the millenium organisers wouldn't like to see their golden goose that is the id cards go towards someone elses control/pockets.

I think that until the sport grows out of its infancy, I cant see any of these problems being addressed let alone resolved, sorry just to add more questions rather than any answers Nick ;)
