Why is it that people always leave out the fact that they got them bombs dropped on them because of thier un-provoked attack on Pearl Harbor? Hey guess what an Eye for an Eye!

What I dont understand is that because these 'terrorists' whatever their purpose dont have a country they control so cannot 'declare war' that this is somehow not a war? They're killing you, your killing them, what more do you need to have a war?

I in no way condone what they did, but if it keeps on like this how many more people will die?
Out of all of the wars that the U.S. have been in, how many have they started? None that I can recall. There is always some foolish group or individual out there that thinks they can rule the world. Would you rather the U.S. stop getting involved in all these little battles in the west? Maybe we should just pull all of our forces out of foriegn locations and bring them all back to the states. What do you think would happen then? I think you know. I am getting so tired of people moaning about what we are doing. I understand that terrorists have been in Ireland a long time, but that is your government's fault for not trying to fix that problem. I am glad that our government has retaliated on them. It shows that we aren't afraid of terrorism and we are going to fight it to the best of our ability. This is a war and I hate to break the news to you but in a war people do die whether we like it or not.

If you pay attention to what is happening in regards to the Afghan situation, it is a war - a war on terrorism. They started it, the american's did what the bible says and turned the other cheek for as long they could. The problem is, the more you turn the other cheek the easier it is for someone to hit you real hard.

As with the Japanese in WWII, the U.S. is using all it's resources to fight the clear and present danger to it's citizens.

Al Queda has declared a holy war on the U.S., this in turn means that any country that harbours these criminals is an accomplice in any acts committed, and therefore, deserves what ever happens to them.

It is unforunate that innocents will be killed, and I in no way, support the dropping of nuclear weapons on non-military targets, however the solution is simple - DON'T SUPPORT TERRORISM.

I come from Canada and as you can imagine I don't necessarily agree with everything the U.S. government does - some of it is down right silly. However in the case of terrorism and in regards to safe guarding citizens what they are doing now has been nothing other than perfect. They have targeted Al Queda not the Afghan people, they have tried to help the Afghan people with relief - food & medical, and they will give the Al Queda members a fair trial in the U.S. which is more than they gave the Northern Alliance leader who - at the beginning of November I believe - travelled from Pakistan back to Afghanistan to try and negotiate a peaceful settlement. If you remember he was accused of espionage and executed all in a matter of 3 days.

Terrorists have to realize that if you poke a sleeping lion too many time sooner or later he is gonna get pissed.

hey rooster technically the attack on peral harbour wasnt unprovoked . (but hey who cares .) well i have 2 points to make in this post .
1. there is a big difference beetween war and terrorism . Wars are supposed to be the army against the army leaving civilians for the most part out of it . Terrorism on the other hand targets civilians as it will make the most potent display .

2. Nearly all the countries and terrorist organisations currently causing the us problems were formerly funded by the us . two good examples are :
Iraq-the us sponsored the iraqi war on iran
osama bin laden - he was sponsored by the cia when the russians were occupying afganistan .

I think that this is a cruel irony .
*and to answer the original question kill em all and let
god/allah/buddha/etc sort em out .

The IRA get most of their money from fund raisers in the States. The US govenment know about it and do nothing as it will bad for votes. Now I am not saying that all americans give money or even agree with whats going on. Does that give the UK govenment the right to murder an Irish person or even an american who supported the IRA? No it doesnt. The eye for an eye argument is utter ****e and very small minded. So how many americans are gonna volunteer when a bunch of native americans want to kill their family or burn them out of their homes? Or when African Americans want to enslave them and everyone they care about?
What happened on Sep 11 was a terrible thing but what the US and UK government did to the Afghans was in a way just as bad.

The Afghans are one of the most oppressed people in the world.
So what good is bombing them? Are you saying that as long as you have the power you can do waht you like? Might is right?
Sounds like a view a certain Austrian had about 60 years ago.

I in no way condone terrorists or anything they do and think that they should be severly punished for what they did. But leave the innocents out.

I know that there is a big difference between war and terrorism. I think you missed my point. Bin Laden initiated an act of terrorism on the U.S. killing many innocent civilians. That provoked a WAR on Bin Laden and Al Queda by the U.S. The U.S. is targeted Al Queda and ONLY Al Queda as we helped the Afghani people with relief. That is why I don't understand why some people are against what we are doing. We are attacking the bad and helping the innocent.

GO ROOSTER, i hope they fry, people dont seem to understand that these terrorists HATE anything western, they would kill you, your children..anyone for their religion, thats the only thing they care about...any innocent people which are slain to prove a point are just 'collateral damage'......screw them, line them up and shoot them, charge the cost of each bullet to their country.

just my general opinion...

and markenB "but if it keeps on like this how many more people will die?" the answer to that one mate is lots. Lots and lots more innocent people will get killed unless we either stand down and all convert to islam or do something about it.
Heres a question for u:
Theres a mad guy running around in the street gunning people down, youve got a gun......the guy turns around and takes steady aim at you........what would you do?
