The 80-90 psi is the bolt pressure with the Trinity, not the input pressure!

Kind of like you have a cocker which runs at an input of 300psi, but the front reg means the bolt moves back and forth at under 100psi.

The matrix is no different, input is still around the 180psi mark. Don't ask why I have it - but here is an extract from the Matrix manual

what's the range on each type? I presume if he is running the second reg then the he'll use around a 400psi output from the Max flow and use the secondary reg to go down to 180(ish). So if the high pressure hits around the 400 mark that's right.

but if he wanted to run the MaxFlow straight in, I'm sure he'd need the LP version (which I would say you have yes)

Thanks Beaker. So we were both right in a way, he CAN run it with just a low pressure Maxflow, but the high pressure with a secondary for the fine adjustment is just as good (though presumably more expensive). All becoming clear(ish) now.:)

No worries.

It's the old skinning a cat problem :)

Would you suggest then that i get a maxflow system for my dragon timmy.

Also any1 selling a maxflow 4500 and 68cc HSE bottle. Cheers :)

This is getting silly

The low pressure markers use a higher flow of air at a lower pressure. thats why initial matrix' were gas hungry. I have an impulse that has been LPR'd, this means I can run lower pressures but require higher flow rates to feed the marker and allow quicker recharge/recovery.

This means I have a bottle at 4500. Regulated down to 500 before it is regulated again down to 150-160. If I just kept the output of the bottle at 150/160 and started blowing off paintballs like they were free I would soon be down to 80-90. So to overcome this I have too give the Maxflow about 500.

Basically flow into the marker is governed by consumption. At a higher pressure there is a higher amount of air cramed into the space which expands quickly to propell the ball. Low pressure markers use more air to propell the ball than pressure.

Its all about efficiency.

One reg is adequate.
Two is foolproof for the chrono.
Three including LPR like an impulse is a must unless you want to drag a 1.5 or 1.9 about.

I could explain more but what the hell, try each way and take your pick.

So if i had a max flow on my dragon timmy then in reality i would have three regs, as the maxflow counts as two and the reg on on the foregrip of the dragon counts as three. Am i right >.<
