it depends on what you say is "one" reg. As all air bottles have a reg of some description on them so it's highly unlikely you'll only have the one Air bottle reg between your 4500 psi air and the valve

....and before anyone says it - the Max-flo is actually 2 regs in 1 so doesn't count ;)

just to mention the "liquid and electrics don't mix" comment above. the problem with liquid co2 gettin into the solenoids is not that it will conduct electricity and short it out as the gas switching parts of the solenoid are insulated from the electrickey bits by a plastic/metal barrier so theres no chance of them being contaminated. the problem with liquid co2 is that that the solenoids are designed to take gas at a fairly low pressure (up to about 200psi so i'm told) and if liquid co2 gets into a solenoid it will "boil" into it's gaseous form and so will increase the pressure, blowing your solenoid. thats the only problem with getting liquid into your solenoid so i'm told
hope that clears it up :D

Sean, the draguns work beautifully on air and co2. Naturally, you'll fluctuate a little on co2, but much less on air. Yes there is a reggie on the bottomline, the same one that comes on almost all spyders. Basically, the dragun shoots good out of the box, so don't worry about it. I run air on mine and I've never had any problems with airflow.

If you wanna start talkin presure and gas efficiency and regulators, talk to Robinator.
the guy wants an air system that comes with a reg and he has a vert max flo on his impy most people would be satisfied there, but no. hes gettin an LPR kit aswell (jackhammer front reg) thats THREE regs. and if eaker says a max flo is 2 in 1 then if he gets a max flo for his air that makes it five!!!!!
bleedin madness, why cant he just play?

Half-pint - actually that does make sense :)

The vert maxflow is just the LP side of things and is no different to any other inline. If he's using that I would guess he's on CO2.

but if he had a maxlfow air system into a maxflow vert then that's pointless :)

And the jackhammer siphons off some of the air going to the valve and gives the solenoid a lower operating pressure than the valve increasing efficiency and lowering kick.

But it can get confusing :D

he's gonna read this later and hurt me,
but he jjustdont shut up about god dam efficiency! it might be ok if he played a little more often rather than buyin stuff and more stuff.
yes he's on CO2.

Hi Beaker Sweetie. You've got me all confused now. I was talking to a friend today who hasn't got any reg yet for his 18 month old LED Matrix (don't ask!) and he was saying he'd ordered his Maxflow from Smart Parts, but still needed to get a secondary reg for it. I couldn't understand why, as my Impulse has only the Maxflow on it, but Trevor insisted that he needed the secondary for the Matrix. I took his word for it as he's much more techy than me when it comes to markers, then you've said just about the opposite.
So - does he need a secondary reg with his Maxflow on a Matrix or not?

Liz.

Well, the Imp input is around the same pressure as the Matrix - the sub 200psi range.

I don't really see why you couldn't run the Max flow straight in as you do, probably through a gas thru grip just for ease of use.

However, as the Matrix is so sensitive to pressure in it's design, the addition of a secondary reg "just to make sure" might be an idea.

I would say it's not entirely necessary, but could understand why someone might want to do it.

Thanks dear. I think he said the Matrix runs at about 80-90 (!) rather than the 170-180 of the Matrix so I was wondering about that. So - should he have bought the high pressure reg (like he did) or the low pressure one (like I assumed he should have)?
