Here it is http://www.paintball.co.nz/m3/ Its not that bad either.
shame they didnt do it using real marker names etc and real player names or at least let you put your own names in
The reason for not using real marker names was simply to avoid argument, recrimination, and lawsuits.

As the markers were ranked in order of effectiveness (roughly) you can imagine the stink that could potentially have been kicked up if marker manufacturer #1 had found that their marker was lower on the list than their competition, marker manufacturer #2.

I also didn't want to run the risk of tripping over potential copyright or trademark issues.

Subsequently, I tried to 'build' the markers into 'types' rather than using real brands.

Ditto with the names.
(a) They wouldn't have meant much to most folk, being casual players, and
(b) I didn't want to put myself in the position of having to decide which players had which sets of skills.

Not having the ability to add your own names was quite simply an oversight. :rolleyes:
I did intend to include this option, but it just never happened.

Pinky, and co.
EA games isn't even considering paintball as a video game concept currently.
I had a breif conversation about Paintball and video games with one of our Executive Producers, and basically the view is this;
if we could sell 1 million units of a paintball game every year, then we would consider it.
Here's the problem, Paintball is a 'war simulation' in most people's eyes. It's not widely recongised as a major sport, and has no fan base outside the player comunity. In short, who is going to buy a paintball video game, based on tournament paintballers? Tournament paintballers, that's who. Frankly if Tournament paintballers were my sole market, then i would't get out of bed in the morning to do business.
So what about the rec-ballers, there's millions of them in the USA. Well they play paintball because it's a war game, it's a simulation of their favorite war films, and tv shows. So if they're going to go out and buy a game, they're more likely to buy a war based first person shooter.

Of course if the TV deal ever materialises, and paintball gets an actual fan base then maybe someone will buy a tournament based paintball game... That's a big if though.

Oh.
i just wanted to add, just because EA Games isn't makeing a paintball game, dosn't mean that someone else isn't doing it. There are lots of smaller developers out there who make games for 'fringe' markets, who could adequately make a paintball video game.
