More Ton Tons ?
More Niellsen's ?

Frequency ramping is everywhere and on that basis we should just get on with paintball life and suck it up?
Bull 'Frikkin' **** we do.

Ahh, let's velocity ramp, nobody gives a **** about cheating anyway, everyone accpets it, what's this next step on the ladder mean anyway, it's just another step ain't it !!

FFS, have u idiots lost ure minds???

How about next time I come on the field and knock you on yer ass, I mean, it's against the rules too but your ratoinale just advocates its compliance if it's done enough times.
And after all, violence on the paintball field is just another rung on the same ladder so it must be ok....isn't it?
Jeeeeeez !
Now were going off the beaten track Pete.. I agree cheating has moved on to being more blatent which i agree is by far not a good thing, but were all kicking off like the whole point of wiping in general is a new thing? There has been wiping for years and years.... whats so new about it now? There is always going to be cheating, whatever sport is played, football has diving and shirt grabbing... i could go on for a while, but i agree that we are going completely the wrong way about things

For instance who's mentioned ramping until just? Im not for ramping at all, but as i believe Nexus have done, to compete at the level you grin and bare it... i am asuming they do but do nexus run ramping markers in ramping events?? We all know your views on ramping markers, are your players opinion on ramping the same? If so in reality arnt they doing something which they dont agree with to keep up with the game??

Instead of giving Players more opportunities to take that extra inch, why dont we buff up on marshalling.. i mean afterall Marshaling nowaday's is hardly discouraging not to cheat is it?

Scars, the first rule of getting out of a hole is to stop digging. If you don't follow my meaning you will should Pete respond to your post. :)

Until your most recent post I think you would have found his principle objection directed at your "tone."

If you think the answer is beefing up the marshalling how 'bout a pack of toughs in the carpark to beat the crap out of anyone penalized for cheating during the day? Now that would encourage sportsmanship!

To be honest i did read my previous post when i got in from work thought i was going i bit far in than i actually believe...

Marshalls beating s**t outta cheaters i fully agree with, but i am a personal Injury Trainee solicitor so as you'd expect i'd be well up for that ;)

Amen..... Two years ago no one would admit to playing on, it was taboo. Last year, no one would admit to wiping....... what's next years? Switching fire modes? Velocity ramping?
We can either cut back now or in two years we'll be no different to ice hockey, two minutes in the sin bin for a smack in the face.

The point is this, of late we have moved past the tacit acceptance of wiping and playing on etc, no one is condoning them but at least we have made adequate provision for its detection and penalizing.
We have now entered an era in which bonus-balling and designer cheating is also becoming accepted and this sets a dangerous precedent as the Ton Tons have now unfortunately highlighted for us all in that some teams will stop at nothing to win a game of paintball, even potentially injuring other players.

And remember here, their whole justification for doing so was the belief that others were similarly velocity-ramping their markers.
Now do I really have to spell out the significance and consequences of that Scars?

Nah…..I didn’t think so mate……

Whatever happened to Old Time Hockey? I mean, old Time Paintball?

This slippery slope has been greased by lots of people. Each bit was rationalized along the way, I am sure.

The refreshing thing about Marcus is his lack of coyness. The sad thing is how many of us he speaks for.

I think lots of good players genuinely regret not feeling that they can simply compete in straight up 'ball, due to the other guy. Almost all of us are the other guy, though. Nobody wants to be the fool, so everybody undermines the actual sport of paintball little by little. Corny, I know.

Better or more officials? That might help. The real problem is the pathological competitiveness that drives people to want to win anyway they can. You have to be unreasonable not to look stupid. I can't imagine how that would ever change. Hell, the Olympics has difficulty keeping doping out, and we haven't even grown into that yet.
