unfortuantly sport is about winning (thats the whole point isnt it) i'll put my hands up and ay ive wiped once or twice/ "not noticed" a hit but i dont do it loads, ill do it once or twice a day maximum (mainly because i get lit up like a christmas tree). i would love it everyone played fair and no cheating went on, but this isnt heave and it isnt a perfect place. live with it or kill youre self (thats the fastest way to heaven i believe)

hmm definitions on google ahh... i still dont understand what it means :S
(and im meant to be getting an A at english Literature at the end of the year!)
All that means, is you can appreciate, or show appretiation of Thomas Hardy's "Mayor of Casterbridge" and other, similarily boring texts.

English language is the one to master, if you wish to understand "Pragmatism at it's most insidious"

What it means is, what you said was, that regardless of what anyone thinks, about cheating, if people are going to do it anyway, then that must be how it's going to be and we should just get on with it and accept it.
the inscidious bit, was, had you been a pragmatist, that you were spreading your view, without it being obvious of your intent to do so.

Probably...

EDIT: Bugger...had i not had to sort a bottle for my kid, I would have got that post in quicker!

So we've established that paintball is divided into two - the cheaters who think you have to cheat to win because 'everyone' else is doing it, and the non-cheaters (bless 'em) who still think cheating is cheating and it's against the rules and therefore shouldn't be done.

But, as the first post questions, should it be glorified? Should it be deemed a necessity? As much of a skill as actually PLAYING the game? Go on the newbie thread and flame a few young gunners and people don't take kindly to it, but explain to them that cheating is ok and half the people on the board will agree. Why not tell them it's ok to butt people with your bottles too, and bonus balling is fine as long as you keep going until the marshall notices. Velocity ramping? Go for it - just don't get caught, and try not to smash anyones goggles and blind them or take their teeth out because you'll get pulled and your team will lose points.

Where does it end?

yeah but The Winters Tale has very little humour and is generaly predictive and boring.
Some shakespeare stuff is great and i can see where he is coming from in The Winters Tale but i dont really enjoy it that much. I would probably enjoy it more if there wasnt my hopes of going to uni riding on it :p

Skeet I'm afraid your explanation of 'pragmastism at its (note 'its' and not it's) most insidious' is a little off the mark mate, in fact it's nothing like what it actually means :)

Its meaning is, 'being practical at its most sinister'.
It's a sideways swipe at people who think like Sabianfan masquerading themselves as philosophers of life when in fact they are nothing more than cheapskate cheats.
