Wherever
Okay, don't get mad right away, I know there have been alot of "This probably has been asked in a thread before" kind of threads, but I missed those.
What I want to know is, why do lots of ballers 'curl' up their flex on their goggles? Everytime I see someone like that I kind of tend to loose my temper. I just cannot understand why anyone would want to risk getting shot in their chin(s) and not to mention their pearly whites (or skanky browns).
So tell me people, is it a pro thing? Is it some sort of bet? What, what, what?!

Thanx,
Eddepet

....some of it might be cause some of the guys out there are dinosaurs (like me) that started playing in shop goggles and big wooden clubs day and it's the when i started play we didn't even have goggles or clothes either in the snow 6 feet both ways the flag was a python that would choke the life out of people while they were running back and the ref's would cut trees down on us while we were hiding you guys are soft but i'm not and i don't need that anyway blah, blah, blah thing or something to that effect (that being said i do not curl mine anymore except when i use a whistle to start/stop a game and i have since stopped using my python as a flag when he swallowed my angel)

Partly it's communications...the mask front does muffle the sound so people want that front part free so they can yell easier IMHO

other than that i cannot think of any reason why it's done....

Sarcasm of his post aside ... I think that is the main reason. Guys that have been playing since the early, mid, or even late 80's would be more accustom to getting shot in the face or ear than people that have started playing in the last few (7-10 I think) years. Masks have been full since I started playing, and I can't imagine getting shot in the ear or right on the lip. The ear is the thing that kills me, people playing in those foam half ear flaps for the JT's you know where half you ear is exposed. I'd rather get shot right in the mouth than take a direct hit in the ear. And what's worse is that I've seen the likes of SC Ironmen (among other teams who have old school players) practicing and some of the players having no ear protection at all.

ok, I'm done ...
