Besides, LiPS are already ably represented on the board by Chris :behindsofa:I will say now that I am in no way interested in this position as I think DW may have got the wrong end of the stick with my suggestions on this thread.
I don't have the time or the energy to get involved in the politics of paintball.
Twizz , actually mate, it doesn't make much sense if we are to optimise the numbers.Well I must say that there should be a rep for the north and 1 fo the south, that does make sence.
Oh my, MSHell, now with no disrespect here but this has got to be one of the most naive posts I have read and I'll give you an indicator as to why, and I'll do that with a proposition:-Then why have so many people from the trade sector represented??? Surely their needs are very similar to each other and could be represented by just a couple of people. I would rather see more people representing the players at different levels as WE are the ones that know what we want from a tournament. We are the largest group here and we are the ones whose opinions and needs matter the most. If that is not the case then what is the point of the federation?
Also this is possibly not the best place to get opinions about who should be representing the players as usernames can mean nothing to some people as they won't know who they are in real life (particularly new players - and these are the ones that matter as they will replace the old timers. No offence Twizz but i don't have a clue who you are for example). There needs to be some way that players know who are representing them so that they can speak to them on here or in real life which is why people suggested having them in different geographical locations so that everyone will have a chance to talk to their representative. Or is the federation only meant for the select???
Actually I see a lot of disrespect here, but I expected nothing less from you. I have seen many posts where you are quick to shoot down people who have a different opinion to yourself so why should this one be any different. You are quick to call people ignorant and naive when they post up something you do not agree with. It is this sort of elitism attitude that can cause more damage then good when it comes to this sport.Oh my, MSHell, now with no disrespect here but this has got to be one of the most naive posts I have read and I'll give you an indicator as to why, and I'll do that with a proposition:-
How about you and a bunch of your mates and selected players [choose as many as you want] get together and organise yourselves into a new Federation with a view to putting UK paintball back on its feet ...... you have to come up with a plan, the power-base with which to implement it, the influence with which to get it going and maintain its momentum; And the finances with which to fuel it and its attendant prize packages.
You can have the ultimate socialist enterprise here MS but ........... you'd fall flat on your face.
I'm not gonna tell you why coz it looks it self-interested, I am gonna let the other players [more experienced and less starry-eyed] on this site tell you ..... hopefully.
You don't have to be a long-term player to understand the naivety of your post, I'm afraid commonsense equips most people with the necessary tools with which to answer it; an attribute that seems so successfully to have eluded you; And of course you need to spend some time in the remedial manners class back at school.Actually I see a lot of disrespect here, but I expected nothing less from you. It's a shame that none of my questions were answered and you just went straight into trying to insult me and belittle me. I do not doubt that the federation was created to try and move on uk paintball but to do this the players themselves need to be on board. So I do not see how it can be a problem to have more than one player representative so that more players will have access to them (so that they can express their views in person or via forums). It wouldn't harm if people who would like to be a representative put up a little about themselves so that the "less-experienced" player like me will know a little bit about their background, what tournaments they play, and where they would like the sport to go just so that we are a little bit more informed about who could represent the players.
Just my opinion - though I'm ready for the shoot down.
And there it is - the shoot down. I wasn't disrespecting you before, I declared as much, I didn't lie ... but I will if you try and make some smart ass comeback.
Now, run along ....
