Personally I think you need a few player representatives since this is the largest of all the groups, it wouldn't harm to have a mixture of "pro" players and players at grass roots level so that there is a perspective on both sides. I also think that we shouldn't have players that are biased about different series (I think this should also go for other members of the board but oh well) players do know what they want but putting down other series whether supported by the federation or not can only harm what you are trying to achieve.

Plus I remember suggesting having a player representative on the federation at the federation cup and was shot down very quickly, saying that we do not need a representative as there is a player on the board already. Personally I think that whoever is chosen shouldn't have any other ties in paintball other than playing.

I agree with more than one but doubt you will need more that 3, you just need to pick the right people that have an overall view of the UK game.
More than one is essential as if that one is unavailable then there would be no representation.

Agreed, but choice is governed by who wishes to be considered - Of the 4 names you have 1 "Pro", 2 Grass roots & 1 Ref
Maybe The Fed should actually have a Ref representative on the board anyway

Good suggestions are often not taken up the first time, but at least you can be content in the knowledge that for whatever reason it is being put in place now.
Players and board members will always have there own views, be biased one way or the other and have ties to some company or other, but that is why you have a committee to balance out the differences.
As for player reps you would be voting for the person who you think will closely represent your views. Your choice is limited by 2 things - the number of persons nominated and your knowledge of the persons nominated.
If you are not happy with the nominations at present or you have someone who you think should be considered then you can always throw a new name into the mix
We will attempt to get a bio of each nominee, so that when the time comes everyone can make a more objective vote.

Guys, before all of you start running away with 'representation madness' here, it may be of some use to remember an old but very profound adage, 'too many cooks can spoil the broth'.

If you have too many people on a board, decision making sometimes becomes a nightmare.
To get around this problem you have to have selective representation who are then given a say and a consequent vote.

What we have to look at here is the reasons why we need player representation and once we acknowledge that, the next question is, 'what is the minimum number of players we need on the board to facilitate that need'?

This line of thought gives us our optimum number and is the number we should work toward.

Take one person who is not associated with any league or format who is willing to take on the role and responsibility of been the contact point for all the players.Like a shop steward of a union who will take any players concerns or opinions onboard and then pass these on at the board meetings.

Then can pass back any points that have been answered to the relevent teams/players.

It would take alot of work and commitment but may be the way around the problems of the differing formats, leagues and experiance levels of the multitude of teams.

That was my original thoughts, but your english is better describing it :first:

Someone with time and dedication, someone who does'nt mind spending time and have the patience to listen to teams and there players. Someone who has the players trust.

Great idea but wouldnt it be a bit too difficult for one person? what i mean is if we had the 2 reps (a north and south) the area covered by each of them is less as apposed to one person trying to get player feedback/queries/questions from everywhere. Say for example the one person nominated plays for a team from the north they may only play the cpps or masters, missing out nspl and other events played further away to them whci also have alot of teams/players attending and being missed out.
