i think the biggest thing with this new EGO is the weight is surpost to weigh next to nothing lighter than a timmy and can fire as fast if not faster than an angel so the lads in planet have told me

hmmmmmm

they may be a little faster with a halo

but even with that its still that a closed bolt has to move back , move forward etc etc

open bolt is just blazin

they are fast cockers but not fast like timmies, angels, matrixs etc

but you already know this gareth :)

kyle

p.s. its good to be back

Exactly as open bolt does... moves front and then back.

In fact, wouldn't closed bolt be a little bit quicker in reaction time? (time between the trigger pull and the ball is fired) , since the bolt does not need to move before firing...

Kyle, an open bolt design still has to move back and forward, at least by the width of the ball, so pretty much the same as a cocker so you reasoning there is flawed. Tried Jamie's new blade this w/e and it ripped, period. It's all down to flow/recharge times.
Try again, skinny one:)

Ask anyone who has actually written firmware for cockers - the firing cycle has 3 or 4 extra stages compared to, say, an impulse. You have to have to reduce the moving mass/friction to a greater extent just to make it keep up.
The Eclipse boys have shown that they can do this to devastating effect with the Nexus, but now that their attentions are focussed on an open-bolt mechanism, expect some pretty awesome firepower on a field near you soon! :D:D:D

I'm not disputing that the eblades are lighting quick... but there are a whole lot of delays in there that u have to put in to make sure the bolt doesn't move back whilst the valve is still open, that it also doesn't move forward before the hammer has latched, before a ball has dropped into the breach (and has stopped bouncing in front of the eyes) etc etc.

I'm not saying that these delays make it slower (the Nexus is a prime example that it isn't) but it's definitely a more complex firing cycle, which means there are more places that you can screw it up if you dick about with the settings.

What I'm saying is that if the Eclipse boys can squeeze that much performance out of a cocker, expect miracles with an open bolt. :D
