Pimping up a Traccer

ive have had a go at taking all the paint off my traccer it takes ages took my 3 hours to do the barrel is there something am doing wrong is doin my head in 
What are you using? Start with a low grit wet and dry until all the paint is off, then go up the grades until it shines like an old man.
Yeah the coarse stuff will take twice as long to buff out you just wanna remove the first layer not scratch the inside
