Thanks for all your comments and we will be looking at ways to improve if we decide to run another event.

Regarding the field:
The field could have been set up a bit better, but the field size and the amount of barricades was to MS / NPPL standards.

As some have mentioned in this notice, we are deciding if its worth carrying on this event. We don’t want to finish it, but with so many 7-man events out their its looking to go that way.

We started out by dropping our price, and then changed our dates, all to no avail. If you the players can come up with any suggestion on how we can improve on this event we would be very grateful.

Jinxy,

It was good to see you again buddy - msut have been Campaign the last time :)

Hope you have taken all my previous comments in the right light - was all meant as info from an outsider of the event.

I would say that one of your major issues may be the site setup. It just looks out of date. You have the PA league now with permanent netting, marked fields specifically for paintball, a huge Marquee players area and a trade stand which is almost as big as the one at Camp Masters Disney!

Then you have the D7's, here we have again permanent netting, and this is never going to have weather problems short of a hurricane or tornado to put the Bahamas to shame!
They also have a fairly large trade stand

The whole thing Uttoxeter has with no netting around the fields makes for a an amatuer event straight away...why would anyone want to put goggles on in +20C just to watch a game?

I guess my point is that paintball has moved on leaps and bounds in the last two years or so and the paying customer wants every tournament to be a mini-millennium/nppl.

I know that you guys have had years of experience in running quality tournaments but unfortunately I think you have to an extent been left behind in the feeling that teams will automatically support said events. Yes there are alot of 7-man events around these days, which has meant that all the new tournaments have had to be bigger and better to attract the teams - it looks like they have succeeded.

I think buddy - the only way for you to turn this series around - is to possibly knock it on the head for this season, go back to the drawing board, do alot of work on the site (or another site closer to a motorway ;) ) and come back next season fresh with ideas bigger stronger than ever...

As i said in an earlier post - I have always enjoyed previous midlands masters events and I hope this is not the end....

Best of luck to you all

Andy
