Good on you for persevering though. I think it's a sorry affair when you can't get much help for something as important as your situation.

I can forgive a company for not bothering to answer questions about a sale for a couple hundred £ etc, I can organise that elsewhere. But in your instance it's much more important to get the help or advice your looking for.

If your still in doubt I'm sure you could post up on here for us for a 'group feedback' advice session sort of thing. I can't say I would be of any use for you but I'm sure someone may be able to help. Just start a thread and see what happens. Some of the companies reps read the forum too so hopefully you may get some advice from them too (no guarantees on that one though)

Thank you for sharing your troubles but I hope you have no more of them in the future.

hi Mat, my original post from 2009 (i think) still stands, ideas are out there but getting the work done required was an issue so had to go for a full back idea.

initially I was after getting a mask maker to reshape the ears slightly to suit the hearing aid but none forthcoming, so tried places that did custom ones, again nyet.

oddly enough the answer came from a non paintball firm, mask is same (ish) but straps changed, now to finish anchoring without ruining safety features

Could you link me to the original thread if that's ok? I would genuinely be interested in knowing more about this and the new design(s) that have come from it.

If it hasn't been updated for a while then, as long as you have the spare time and don't mind, I would love to see the progress.

Let me know if that's ok

If you are still looking for some work to be done then this may sound a little outside the box but I'm certain it would work; students.

A lot of design students are given the brief that they must design a product to solve a problem and many, especially university students, have access to moulding equipment which may help with modification for a mask (e.g cutting part off and bonding a new design on the sides) or alternatively you may be able to get help with new strap designs etc.

Equally they would enjoy testing the product... Up the FPS to a level which you will never encounter and plaster it with paint.

Worth a shot I reckon. Sometimes I wonder why I chose a law degree and not design...hhmmmm haha

watched the first and last ones :) im sorry i haven't watched the second, its exams month so time is not in my favour at the moment

The proposed solution you have sounds brilliant. I would have suggested putting two slits (one either side) horizontally in the bottom of the mask and putting a loop on the end of both straps. Then use a similar system to the sly profits whereby you use a couple of thick rings (which cannot go back through the holes) to secure the straps in place. you may need to reinforce the holes but I can't see it being a big issue.

With the JT's could you still slide the mask on? as you would have a 6 point system whereby it may be slightly difficult. Although if it resolves the other problems then i cant see you complaining about having to tie the bottom two straps each time :)

First and Last are the main ones really middle one is a step towards finish.

the theory behind using JT's is they usually have Chinstraps so I could utilise those fittings for the new harness? or even the slits already around the bottom of the mask

Good luck with exams ;)

I figured that would be the case. I'm mainly on the silent floor of the library when studying so videos don't go down too well haha. The forum provides a nice break now and then though.

The reason I suggest the modification is to save the money spent on a new mask. At the same time though if you don't mind spending the extra money it is likely the easier option. I'm a student at the moment though... Save money wherever I can. 2 assessmentseft and I can drop that label though. I can't wait...say your a student and everyone runs for the hills! All because the majority use it as an excuse to party...

therein lies my issue I had emailed manufacturers to see If i could borrow a mask or something that was knackered and try the idea out before shelling out loads of money.

but no maker seems willing to help or to even try the idea for me!
